Chad played at our new church yesterday :) There is a photographer who volunteers his gifts to take photos during the services. Here's a link to see them.
I guess some of you may still be wondering how we ended up there because I have not given any details--just mentioned it. So, here's the story...
At the beginning of October, Chad & I began to feel the desire to check & see if we were still ministering where God wanted us to be. We have prayed about that several times during the 5+ years we have been at Morning Star & have always been reaffirmed in our calling there. We felt like it would be about a 6-month time-frame before we would leave the church; that way it would be at the end of the school year. And basically, we are just reluctant to change. Chad is very consistent by nature, wanting to see everything he does finished to completion.
Now I have to give you a little background on our new church. For years, we have honestly thought that we didn't particularly like this church or endorse its ministry. Seriously. That's what happens when you use limited perspective/worldly judgment on something spiritual you don't know enough about, I suppose! BUT...Chad had the opportunity to help them do a sound system install through his other job. And he came home amazed by the staff, the vision, & the excellence that they demand in their ministry. He had SO much to say about them that he made me want to meet them. I had not seen Chad so impressed by a ministry in, well, maybe ever. And Chad works with a LOT of churches. He has been in a place of seeking the Lord about what "church" should look like & for quite some time has been more confused than settled in his answer. I loved seeing him passionate about seeking the Lord out in that matter. So, when he was so excited about this church, I wanted to know more.
Fast forward back to October...About a day or two after Chad & I started praying about where God would have us serve, Gary (the pastor) offered Chad a job. Chad wasn't even sure when he came home if he was really serious. But we were both eager to know more. Within the next week, he was given another offer by a church & was asked to consider a church out of state by a minister there. We felt the Lord's affirmation in leaving Morning Star but weren't sure about where the "right" open door was. But our hearts were already so compelled by Revolution that we just felt peaceful about it the entire journey. And the rest is history :)
Chad's officially starts in January but has already lead worship with the team & will lead again on Christmas Eve. CantonChristmasEve.com He is going to be one of two worship leaders & also share in running the technical side of production. We are excited about our new church because 70% of the church body were unchurched before coming to Revolution. The vision is to reach lost men because most churches reach Christians seeking a new church home or lost women--their service style only attracts women. Revolution is different & we are very excited to experience it & be a part of it. We'd love for you to come see what all the fuss is about, too :) Come experience a church that is passionate about Jesus & making Him known! (Again, the church's main website is therevolution.tv)
