The random thoughts that occupy your mind at 5am

Chad left for a work trip on Sunday night & will return sometime in the early AM on Thursday. Neena & I have been having "sleepovers" in our room & our normal night-time schedule is a little lax. I have realized from the last two nights that she really has some anxieties about him being gone--or about us being here without him, rather, bless her little heart! I can go either way about it; I normally do really good but then sometimes I get a bad thought or a bad dream & it grows into the "f" word.

(F-e-a-r)

I have always strived to keep fears and scary ideas away for Neena because I was so shy when I was little, the world seemed awfully big--not that I had a lot of fears, but I eventually saw enough TV to keep me awake at night & was deathly afraid of wolves (the 3 little pigs brought that one on!). Neena has stayed right by my side since Sunday; even in the bed, & talks about the "strange mans" coming to get her. She learned the term "strange man" from Veggie Tales, Josh & the Giant Wall. There's a part when Josh goes out & sees a "strange man" who he learns to be an angel of the Lord. We have explained over & over to her that someone strange is just someone whom you haven't met--they're not a friend yet, but once you meet them they will be. She can quote that to you but she still doesn't get it. I am really glad that Chad doesn't go out of town more often; I think it might really bother her if he did.

Neena has really gotten into the phone lately. She'd calll MiMi & Papa 15 times a day if I'd let her. Sometimes she has real words to share & sometimes she just likes to hear herself. I love hearing her sweet little voice on the phone; they do to...but sometimes it's really hard to understand over the phone. And we've both got a touch of a cold right now :( We're trying to fight it & it's not too bad but I really hope we can nip it soon b/c my friend, Kim's baby who I mentioned a few posts back should be coming home this week & I want to visit! Well, that, & who really wants to be sick any time??? We went to Harry's yesterday to replenish our supply of Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar, nature's natural antibiotic, to try to fight it off, & then topped it off with a visit to the Chiropractor for each of us. (If you haven't learned about the benefits of Raw, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar "with the mother" you need to google it or something; it's amazing.)

At church, we are still continuing our read through the New Testament & it's been so awesome! We are on 2 Corinthians now (ok, I'm still finishing 1 Cor...) and Chad & I have both been so touched by God's Word. If you don't have a copy of the NT on CD and would like one, comment me or email me & I'll gladly pick up a copy & send to you. They're in mp3 format & have to be downloaded or uploaded--not sure about the terminology--to your computer; then you can put it on your ipod or make CD's from there with the files. Of course, I'm still reading instead of listening because I am sooo ADD that it's mostly pointless for me to try to listen to it.

We go in for an ultrasound on Friday morning, so hopefully we'll find out what we're having!! I'll post when I find out :)
