Thanks for asking about my not blogging, friend! Made me smile :) Here's my explanation: Internet life was sailing a few weeks ago until randomly my screen went black on my laptop. For a while I rigged up our desktop screen to my laptop in the living room so I could use that computer but decided that was a little to redneck & messy for me. THEN, Chad got a new computer so I inherited his newer old one...It is, however in worse shape than compute-a-saurus numero uno-- sooo slow & the fan doesn't work, so on top of burning you, sometimes it overheats & dies. But it was manageable...UNTIL...The battery died. As in, I'm working on it now & if I manage to barely let the power cord slip, it dies & I have to restart.
So here's what's been going on around here...Neena starts pre-k tomorrow. She is so excited. I can't wait to make pictures. And since I'm not teaching there this year, I actually got to play "Mom" and buy all her teachers' "wishlist" supplies AND embellish her bag this afternoon. I feel so domestic. Well, I did, that is, until I decided to go on a serious clean-the-house rampage & I realize that one major reason I'm messy is that I turn into a nazi & I can't even stand myself when I get anal about a clean house. There is NO inbetween! I feel so hopeless.
But I do have good news on the hopeless front. Normally I neglect important things like Bible-reading & having good art or learning time with Neena because I am spinning my wheels trying to get things done...but NOT today! I am keeping up with our pastor's challenge of reading a new testament book a week, which is totally rocking life to the core. And I had serious art time with Neena today :) A good, needed reminder that bulking up my schedule a bit helps give me the frame I need to keep my time wisely used. So there is progress. I'm not hopeless after all!! (God says He's working on me to see His work to completion...woohoo!)
Last week I had a day when everything stunk. We're talking some kind of laquer or turpentine smell. The car smelled like it. The house smelled like it. Even the sheets smelled like it so much so that I couldn't nap. So I told Chad about it & had him come by the house to see if it was me or everything else. Not the house, the sheets, or the car--must be me. Something is wrong with me--I must have some serious medical thing going on!! Then I start doing laundry & realize a select group of clothes have that smell, including the shirt I was wearing that day. I have had to throw the clothes away!! I don't know what it is, but even after 4 washes, they STILL stink. And I do NOT want the smell being passed on to other things. Any guesses as to what it could be???
Chad & I were marvelling at how cute Neena has been, watering my plants for me on the front porch with her little watering can. I finally went to see if she was doing ok & realized she'd been using HOT water the entire time. I'll be lucky if anything is still alive tomorrow ;) She was my "big helper," though!
Say a prayer for Neena & her teachers & all the teachers, really--it's a tough week getting started!
I got to see baby Aiden today & he is gorgeous & unbelievably small. What a precious miracle...I<3 babies & am getting excited!!
