Getting Bigger & Staying the Same

I'm in unpredictably good spirits considering today is my due date & my sweet baby is showing no signs of going anywhere. The Dr's say I'm healthy & he looks good. But they'll also induce if I want them to.

Although I appreciate the offer, we're fighting for natural & so far so good.

Except...one little detail that is bothering me...See, I'm getting bigger in the tummy area but my weight is staying the same. The scales at home stay around 146 (at the dr's office with my boots on it says more, so we'll go with mine whether they're right or not). I might not notice how my belly is growing if not for a few activities that continue to grow increasingly difficult. One of the toughest things to do is wash dishes. I can't really reach the sink like I expect to be able to. I end up hunching over at the most awful angle & my back hurts, I inevitably get water all over my shirt--the part that presses up against the counter, & I can't quit trying to turn sideways to find a better angle & I'm just not coordinated enough for that.

Yesterday I bought paper plates & plastic cups. So much for being green, guys--I'm over it! And for those who know me, I NEVER use paper/plastic. Mostly b/c I'm obsessed with using our china. You don't pay $26 per item & let it sit in the cabinet, People.

If anyone is praying for the arrival of this baby boy, I'm now shooting for Monday. My sister-in-law's father passed this week; it's been so tough on her family--please pray for them: Laila, her mom, Linda, & brother, Keon. The blessing from this, though, is that my brother was able to fly home from Iraq to be with her; he'll be here for 10-12 days. And during that time, he'll now get to welcome his little nephew into the world!! I want him to come on his own but he's got until Thurs before I induce; I want plenty of time for Allen to snuggle the little guy before he goes back to war.

I'm so thankful for God's hidden blessings. He is so good.

So it's official. My target weight as a NOT PREGNANT WOMAN is well over your full term pregnancy weight! I think I'll go run 80 miles now.

LOL Brittany!!! =) Don't forget to consider that you're about a half a foot taller than me, too! Wish I had that! (Or not b/c then I'd be taller than Chad...it all works out for the best!)
